Autodesk Product Design Suite Ultimate 2013 is not only a mouthful to say, but it is the #1 choice for design software at Finnovation Product Development. This collection of software allows the designer to create 3D printable designs limited only by the laws of physics, and can be used to design anything from spacecraft to a simple coffee mug.
Autodesk Product Design Suite 2013
Finnovation Product Development uses Autodesk software to help any project reach the next stage of production efficiently and accurately. Virtual prototyping is possible in that every part of a design is represented by a 3D CAD file. This allows all parts to be checked for clearance and proper fit prior to prototyping or manufacturing. This saves time and leads to more cost effective design and engineering.
Once the virtual prototype is completed, the 3D CAD data can be sent to a 3D printer for rapid production and prototyping purposes. While the parts are being printed, the designer can continue to use the Autodesk software to create product rendering and animations. These renderings can be used for marketing and promotion as well as for creation of technical documents including patent drawings.
The following animation was created using Autodesk Showcase. This particular program is perfect for the efficient arrangement of animation sequences for visualization purposes. The best part about Autodesk Showcase is that any user can create quality animations in preset lighting environments very intuitively and quickly. Animation sequences of similar quality and duration previously took hours to set up, and hours to render. In this case, a presentation quality video was able to be made from 3D CAD files in just over 1 hour and includes scene setup and rendering time. In fact most of the animation and rendering was completed during the Super Bowl Halftime using Nvidia Quadro GPU technology and the Boxx workstation.
For some more examples of the capabilities of Autodesk Product Design Suite take a look at our portfolio. Everything that Finnovation does starts with a 3D CAD file created using this software. In fact, the Finnovation Product Development logo was made using this software, as well as 90% of the content on FPD’s website! YouTube also has excellent examples of what designers are doing with this software, as well as many resources for learning tips & tricks on how to maximize Autodesk software. If you want to download and learn to use Autodesk software then you can get trials or even fully featured educational versions available to students.
